well queen my long lost thought you were gone forever to never come back friend. I am not to familiar with the nikon lenses i would imaging the logical side would be to cover as many focal lengths as possible and that would be covered by the 18-55 and the 55-200mm lenses. however im not sure if the 18-135 lens offers supperior glass or not. If it does i would say that would be the one you go with. anyway it sure is nice to see you on here queen i must say i missed ya.

Yeah was a real eye opener, this one. Makes u wonder sometimes, whether we are really welcome in this country or not. More importantly, will we ever be REALLY accepted as part of the "American culture". These organizations are open about their "feelings" toward immigrants. There are a Whole lot more people who may not be so open about their thoughts, but still have them nonetheless.
But worry not, we are equally thick skinned. Green Card to Lekar hi rahenge :)

I am a newbie as well and have filed I-485, I-131, and I-765, and they reached USCIS by July 2nd. What happens now? I mean, I understand we will get I-485 receipt and AP and EAD and might even be called for finger printing. What after that?

PERM submitted in Oct 2006, I140 approved
After the show down of the USCIS and all the high skilled immigrats. USCIS posted that they are withdrawing the July 2nd board. This is great news.
I have filed my I-485, I-131, and I-765, and they reached USCIS by July 13th. According to the new board, USCIS will no long reject them.
So what will happen from now on? What is the procedure after this?
I guess this might be a newbie question. If someone can post some answers for me, it will be very helpful.
Thanks

Hi all,
I do have a worry about I140 processing and I hope somebody can help me.
I finally got my LC approved and now in the concurrent I140 and I485 filling process.
However, I noticed that there is a minor mistake in filling on my ETA9089.
My OPT expired on August 14th, 2006 and my H1-B was approved Dec 12th2006. However in the job experience part, there is a booboo. Instead of putting the start date as January 15th, 2007 (which was the date I started working in the company), they put August 14th, 2006. So from USCIS standing point of view, it could mean that I work during the gap between my OPT and H1-B! :(
Now I am worried sick that they will deny my I-140.
Any inputs anybody?

Almost a good percentage of IV members are ready to file their I-140/I-485. I was one of the fortunate ones who will be able to file I485, due to the date moving from 2001 to 2003 last month for Eb3. The moment I got this happy news that I can file I-485, I celebrated by contributing $20 to IV. And my request to all of you who are in good spirits as of today due to the dates being current for I140/485, please do the same. This will help IV to continue fighting for the removal of retrogression to the best extent. I am sure all of us agree with me, that there is a long way to go in the journey of this GC. So, please contribute.

For your information, most employment in the United States is "at will", which boils down to, the employer can dismiss you at any time for any, or no, reason whatsoever.
The fact that it's "retaliation" is not likely relevant.
They owe you notice of termination, or pay in lieu of notice, so a couple of weeks.

Change the I140 to premium processing. If you are at your end of 6th year and if you have less than six month in your visa, you can apply for premium processing.

I am not exactly in this scenario.
In my case I moved to a different company that already revalidated my H1B before moving to the new company.
So when they old company H1B is revoked, I say an LUD on the new company H1B. But there is no EVL RFE. And there is no soft LUD also on my I-485.

So I've been out of school for just about 3 weeks now and haven't done much shooting lately. Took the family up into the mountains today and grabbed the camera and a 50mm lens...nothing else (including the spare battery that I'd need soon after  ). Anyway, I couldn't get a decent shot of anything that I "saw". Very disappointing to say the least.
Now, This is the best of about 10 shots I was able to take before I needed the aforementioned spare battery. My fault, I didn't check the charge level and I forgot the spare....whoops.
Anyway, while walking through the woods, this stump caught my eye. I'm not entirely sure why, but it did. Now here I am looking at a photo of a stump. It's a nice enough stump, I suppose and might be nicer if that branch to the right wasn't there but I'm curious to see if I'm going crazy or if there's anything actually worthwhile in this shot (something more than a snapshot- but not by much.)

Hi,
I am currently working on a fulltime H1B and my GC process is going on with second stage (I140) in progress. Now my old employer wants me to work parttime for them which I agreed upon but this is a possibility only if I have a parttime H1B applied w.r.t old employer which I am thinking to apply for it and work parttime. But my question here is does this effect my GC processing? If it is what are the effects? Please reply me back. Thanks a lot.
Regards
According to an attorney, you must work part time 35 hrs per week in order to keep your GC process going on.

My feeling was that there are No NEW jobs here in USA especially for immigrants. I felt jobs are slowly being offshored and new job creation was not catching upto that. This matches with unemployment numbers 10%+... Also I feel there are enough people looking for PROJECT while on H1B..
Its good to see this is changing with new H1b hiring happening!!
P.S I am not anti-immigrant!

The H-2B program is critically important for many businesses that have difficulty finding U.S. workers to fill temporary jobs. This is particularly true in seasonal industries. Comments from H-2B employers attest to the need for foreign workers in physically demanding seasonal jobs, often in remote locations, that many U.S. workers will not take.
The H-2B nonimmigrant visa (http://www.h1b.biz/lawyer-attorney-1137785.html) program permits employers to hire foreign workers to come to the U.S. and perform temporary nonagricultural work, which may be one-time, seasonal, peak load or intermittent and there are no qualified and willing U.S. workers available for the job. Note that this visa is not available for "temporary" agencies or other work placement agencies.
In order to learn more about employers perceptions of the H-2B program, ImmigrationWorks USA and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce conducted a survey: five short questions distributed among H-2B employers in July and August 2010. The survey asked how many H-2B workers the company had hired in the last three years and what types of jobs those workers held. It included two open-ended questions about the benefits of using the program and asked what if any problems employers had experienced.
Another open-ended question asked what employers would do if they were not able to hire H-2B workers. Participation was voluntary, and results could be submitted via email, fax or the internet. A total of 367 employers responded. The majority of H-2B employers who responded to the survey noted that temporary foreign workers are reliable and hard-working. Many also praised these workers productivity: a benefit that offsets the cost of bringing them into the United States. Respondents appreciated that H-2B workers were willing to work seasonal jobs and then return home when the season ended.
Important benefit of the program is that it offers companies a way to hire foreign workers when U.S. labor markets tighten. The program increases labor market flexibility by allowing businesses to bring in foreign workers when U.S. workers move up to better, higher-paying jobs during economic expansions.

I received this private message from Sledge_Hammer. This is the person, who gets irritated when someone writes "u" instead of "you". He also has issues with other's control and understanding of English language. Over here, he has given me full exposure of his command over English language. Thank you --

Your life story!
You're a fucking son of a rotten whore that was fucked both ways by a rabid dog on the streets of Dharavi slums. While the dog was fucking your mother she was having such a good time that she even offered to lick the semen off of the dog's penis once it was done. Of course, while all of this was going on, your dad was getting ass fucked by your uncle, your grandfather, his father, and all the slum dwellers.
Nine months later you were born. You are the product of your mom's eggs and the rabid dog's semen.
Have a good day!
WOAH, LOL i can just imagine the hindi/punjabi version of it!:D

I just e-filed my EAD application. Unfortunately, right after I made the payment thorugh Credit Card and it generated the PDF receipt, I noticed that my country of Citizenship/Nationality is entered as USA, instead of INDIA. Everything else on the form is correct.
Can anyone advise how to correct this error? I haven't send any supporting documentation. Should I just highlight this in my cover letter when I send the supporting documentation? Or call up USCIS Customer Service and they can correct that maybe?
Please advise guys,
Thanks

Hi There,
My 485 application is pending at TSC on EB3 category, country of chargebility is Inida. Yesterday my PERM labor approved on EB2 category and need to apply 140 to recapture my own EB3 PD.
My employer will come under NSC. if the PD recaptured, I will be hardly one month away from my priority date to be current, as per the current visa bulletin dates.
So can you please provide some suggestion to which Service Center will be opt for filing EB2 140 now, in order for getting an optimal process for 140 and eventually 485?
Or does the service center really matters as it will take a very long time for me to get greened?
Thanks,
B+ve.
