but we sent out the application package on June 28 (Friday) and the USCIS received our package on July 1st (Based on the Fedex tracking record). There is no way that my employer can refer to the new prevailing wage databse, which is released on July 1st.
Save the FedEx receipts etc, they might be useful in case of RFE.

It's ok for outside people to wait longer rather than get tourist visa quickly for indefinite time to explore possibilities which are dangerous for the country .....

Its alright most of the time USCIS looks for last year or last 2 years tax return. I think W-2 is good enough to prove that you are eligible for Tax return.

My passport is expiring in March. I live in NY metro . Does anyone knows the procedure to renew the passport while in the USA. Please share your experience.
You can go to this website and get all the needed info....

Also, there were atleast 2 threads discussing PP renewals..You can do a search for those threads for renewal timelines...I think it takes them 2-3 weeks in NY Consulate to mail the new passport....You can go for tatkal service and get it issued the same day if you pay $90 extra....

Hi,
I am on h4 visa now.It expires in Sep14,2011 .I have a company that wants to sponsor my H1 visa.the start date for the h1 visa would be 1st Oct,2011.
Does this mean that i will be out of status for Sep14-Sep30, will i have to file for my h4 renewal for that period.also,would it affect my new h1 petition.
Pls reply

As of right now, retailers have no knowledge of this happening. Does not mean it's true or false, just the fact is retailers are not aware. As of the time of this posting.
